Hey real estate agents! Are you looking to increase your video-making skills and marketing game? The awesome professionals of Madison Settlements, WFG, and WEST are discussing how to create a video that stands out from the crowd. Did you know that videos are a great way to capture the attention of clients (current and potential)? That’s right. And you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg creating quality videos that stand out to your audience.
Why Video?
Video can be used during the lifecycle of a real estate transaction. It is a wonderful way to engage with customers. And the stats don’t lie. According to a survey, about 85% of U.S. Internet users watch video content daily across all devices. Also, ask yourself – are you more likely to stop and watch a video while scrolling, or look at a graphic? Consumers tend to enjoy video content while scrolling through social media compared to basic text or a graphic.
Our Top Video Tips
Don’t let yourself get in the way of, well, yourself is our top video tip.
Other than that, here are our other tips for creating videos that will stand out:
Let There Be Light
In order to create a video that stands out from the crowd, we highly suggest purchasing a ring light. They’re easy to find and buy and make a tremendous difference in appearance for you and for a home you are selling.
Can You Hear Me Now?
If you plan on speaking in your video, we recommend a few things:
1) Speak up – but don’t yell
2) Have your phone camera facing you so your microphone picks up sound better
3) Consider purchasing a mic (shotgun mic, clip-on mic, etc.)
4) If you want near-silence during your video, make sure the surroundings are quiet
You Don’t Need Expensive Equipment
While high-quality cameras are great for making excellent videos, sometimes your phone can be just as good. If you’re on the go and want to do a showing via video, use your phone! Make sure you are using at least 1080p at 30fps (frames per second) for the best phone quality video that won’t take up too much space and storage.
While on the subject of using your phone as a way to create videos, horizontal (landscape) videos do and look much better than vertical videos.
Editing Made Easy
Want an editing app? We suggest either the Quik app or the Clips app (on iPhone). They’re quick and easy to use to push out your real estate video fast!
